1.-JUDGEMENT ON STOWAGE: EC v. SPAIN
The European Commission has decided to bring Spain before the Court of Justice of Luxembourg for failure to comply with the judgement issued by the latter on December, 11, 2014. In this judgement the Court ruled that the Spanish legislation on dock work ( Royal Decree 2/ 2011, of September 5)) is contrary to the freedom of establishment enshrined in article 49 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU).
2.- SPANISH PORT TRAFFIC: UP TO 5.7%
Traffic of goods in Spanish ports have totalled 121.1 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2016, a 5.7% increase over the previous year. All traffics grew with the exception of cruise ships that went down a 6.6% and their scales a 7.5%.
3.- BOLUDA: TOWING SERVICES IN TWO MEXICAN PORTS
The Spanish company Boluda Corporación Marítima and its two Mexican subsidiaries, Compañía Marítima del Pacífico and Compañía Marítima Mexicana, have been awarded the towing services in the Mexican ports of Manzanillo and Altamira for the next 18 years.
